A boatman who ferries tourists in Panglao was arrested in a buy-bust operation at a suspected drug den in said town on Monday.

The suspect, Darwin Clemen, a 36-year-old resident of Barangay Doljo, Panglao, is included in the town’s drug watchlist, said municipal police chief Senior Insp. Jomar Pomarejos.

Panglao police were trailing Clemen when he was allegedly spotted selling illegal drugs at a house believed to be a drug den.

Policemen of the municipal drug enforcement unit and Provincial Public Safety Company then set up the sting operation which reportedly led to the drug transaction between Clemen and a poseur-buyer.

Clemen allegedly sold shabu worth P500 to the undercover police while he was caught in possession of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu worth P4,500.

Charges for sale and possession of illegal drugs will be filed against the suspect. (W. Maestrado)
