One drug suspect was arrested while another escaped during an anti-drug operation in Barangay Poblacion, Talibon on Tuesday night.

SPO4 Crisanto Bonghanot of the Talibon Police Station identified the collared suspect as Roldan Aguhar, 39, and the man who escaped as Ronnel Monalem.

Aguhar was arrested after allegedly selling shabu worth P500 to a poseur-buyer, while Monalem noticed that they were transacting with an undercover cop prompting him to run and escape.

Bongahanot told the Chronicle that Monalem, a resident of Sitio Pilipal in Talibon, previously surrendered under Oplan Tokhang but continued to peddle drugs.

Meanwhile, another pack of shabu was recovered from Aguhar’s possession and P1000 believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sale.

He is currently detained at the lock-up jail of the Talibon Police Station pending the filing of charges against him for violating Sections 5 and 11 Artcile II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Rey Tutas)
