Two earthquakes shook Bohol on Wednesday night, the first registering at 4.1 magnitude, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The first earthquake struck at 10:08 p.m. and was followed by a weaker 2.7 quake three minutes later.
Based on Phivolcs data, the first and second tremors’ epicenters were traced near Duero and Alicia, respectively.
The quakes were tectonic in nature, added the Phivolcs.
Damages and aftershocks are not expected.
On Saturday, a slightly stronger 5.9-magnitude earthquake hit Bohol at 9:06 a.m.
The epicenter was traced at 28 kilometers southwest of Lila.
However, residents said that they barely felt the tremor.
The Phivolcs later on explained that the jolt was not felt due to the quake’s depth at 551 km. beneath the ground.
