Male and female teenage siblings were killed while their two-year-old sister was severely injured after they figured in a road accident on board a motorcycle in Ubay on Monday afternoon.

The male driver, 14, and his sister,16, both residents of said town, succumbed to severe head injuries as they were accidentally rammed from the side by an incoming Isuzu D-Max pickup truck.

The 2-year-old female infant who was with the other siblings remained in critical condition after the accident as she sustained severe bruises in her face and leg.

Authorities identified the pickup truck driver as Maximo Boyles, also an Ubay resident.

Based on initial investigation, PO3 Lemuel Reyes of the Ubay police said that the motorcycle driver failed to decelerate as he turned and moved towards the national highway in Brgy. Sandigan, Ubay

The pickup truck then reportedly collided straight towards the crossing motorcycle.

Authorities noted that the victims were immediately rushed to the Don Emilio del Valle Memorial Hospital in Ubay but the male driver died while being transported.

The two other siblings were then referred to the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) in Tagbilaran City.

However, the 14-year-old sister succumbed to her injuries before reaching the hospital, while the 2-year-old infant is still in critical condition at the GCGMH.

Meanwhile, another victim who was grazed by the pickup truck after it collided with the ill-fated motorcycle is now in stable condition.

The victim was identified as Marlene Cutamora, 41-year-old resident of Barangay Sandigan, Ubay.
