Two of three drug suspects who allegedly escaped from an anti-drug operation on Monday are now in authorities’ custody amid a hot pursuit conducted by joint operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Tagbilaran Ciity Police Office (TCPO).
One suspect identified as Jeremias Cimafranca, 27, who is listed in the TCPO’s drug watch list was arrested just hours after reportedly escaping from the NBI during a drug buy-bust operation on Monday in Barangay Tiptip, Tagbilaran City.
In a report, police indicated that another of the three escapees voluntarily surrendered before TCPO police officer Sr. Insp. Erano Regidor on Tuesday morning.
Authorities identified the suspect as Roel Serrano, a 22-year-old resident of Barangay Tiptip.
According to NBI executive officer Atty. Arcelito Albao, both suspects will be facing charges for violating Section 5 and Section 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive. Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The same cases were filed against Michael Torillo who was the target of the Monday drug buy-bust operation.
Torillo also reportedly escaped and is still at large.
Meanwhile, one Kenjie Bernales who was arrested during the same buy-bust operation remained under the custody of the NBI.
He has claimed to be a minor, authorities said.
However, Bernales has yet to present documents indicating his age. (Weli Maestrado)
