Bohol’s pride, the Loboc Children’s Choir again made a distinctive honor to the province after they romped away several top awards of the 56th Concorso Internazionale Di Canto Corale SEGHIZZI held in Gonzaga, Italy.
Under its conductress Alma Taldo, the choir was adjudged as first placer in the choral arrangements of folk, traditional, spiritual gospel and pop & jazz.
The choir garnered special prizes on “Children’s Voice Prize,” after the judges found the choir to have the highest absolute mark.
The choir also won the “highest absolute mark obtained in the different categories.
The Loboc Children’s Choir was the “audience favorite” which made them garner the “Audience Prize Award,
Presentation and choreography were also awarded to the Loboc Children’s Choir.
The choir received 11 gold range medals for obtaining 90-100 points; 2 silver range medals for obtaining 80-89 points in the different categories of the competition; 3 certificates; 9 plaques and 1 trophy.
The group’s songs were done by USA based Boholano composer and arranger, Fr. Arnold Zamora of this city.
Together with the choir to the Italy trip were Noel Kerr Caneda, assistant conductor; Marivic Tocmo, pianist; Damaris Taldo, over-all tour manager; Evelyn Cutab Silva, admin officer; Liza Mondilla, choir staff and Dr. Wilfreda Bongalos, schools division superintendent.
