Two suspected drug personalities were arrested by police operatives in a drug buy-bust operation in Tagbilaran City on Wednesday afternoon.

The Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) identified the suspects as Joseph Carlo Aguaviva, a 26-year-old criminology graduate, and Macario Macalinao, 37, both residents of Barangay Manga, Tagbilaran City.

According to PIB chief P/Sr. Insp. Jojit Mananquil, Aguaviva is listed in the Bohol Provincial Police Office’s (BPPO) drug watch list.

Barangay officials previously subjected Aguaviva to Oplan Tokhang, but the suspect did not surrender and cut his involvement in illegal drug activities, said Mananquil.

Both suspects are now detained at the BPPO headquarters in Camp Dagohoy.

They will be charged for sale and possession of illegal drugs, police said.

In a report, police indicated that Aguaviva and Macario were caught red-handed selling shabu worth P500 to a police poseur-buyer.

The suspects were also allegedly in possession of three more packets of suspected shabu, said police. (Weli Maestrado)
