A woman who was travelling with her husband on board a commuter multicab in Tagbilaran City fell prey to a pickpocket losing P11,900 in cash to the unidentified male suspect.
According to victim Eufemia Raz, a resident of Barangay San Augustine, Alburquerque, the money was payment for their son’s tuition.
Raz told police that the incident happened at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday while she and husband Pablo were travelling from City Square to the Integrated Bus Terminal (IBT) in Barangay Dampas.
It was only upon arriving at the IBT when she noticed that her wallet was missing from inside her sling bag, Raz said.
The wallet contained the said cash and several identification cards including her Commission on Elections, PhilHealth and Forever Living IDs, she added.
Raz reported to police that there was a suspicious-looking man on board the commuter multicab who she believed to have perpetrated the crime.
The suspect reportedly went off the public utility vehicle ahead of the Raz couple.
Meanwhile, the Tagbilaran City Police Office’s theft and robbery section have been tasked to conduct a follow-up investigation on the case. (WM)
