A suspected drug personality on Sunday was arrested in Panglao after he was allegedly seen selling illegal drugs by policemen who have been monitoring his movements.

Joint operatives of the Panglao police, Regional Public Safety Battalion 7 and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency set up a sting operation to collar Albert Lorono, 28, early on Sunday.

In a report, police said that Lorono, a resident of Barangay Bolod, sold shabu worth P500 to an undercover cop.

The operatives then arrested the suspect who was also allegedly in possession of shabu contained in four packets of assorted sizes.

The seized drugs weighed 5.5 grams and had an estimated street value of P64,900, said the Panglao police’s intelligence section.

According to Panglao police chief Insp. Romar Labasbas, Lorono previously surrendered under Oplan Tokhang.

However, Lorono continued his involvement in illegal drug activities despite having surrendered to authorities, said Labasbas.

Charges for violating RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are set to be filed against Lorono who is now detained at the Panglao police lock-up jail. (Weli Maestrado)
