Three minors were caught on a closed circuit television (CCTV) camera stealing from the Birhen sa Barangay Church at Lindaville Subdivision in Barangay Dao, Tagbilaran City.

Parish priest Fr. Cecil Lobregas reported the incident to the Tagbilaran City Police Station on Tuesday, two weeks after the theft incident.

In his report to authorities, Lobregas indicated that the suspects stole a phone tablet of a PLDT Telpad from a room in the church.

Based on a CCTV footage taken outdoors, the suspects were seen going towards the church at around 12:20 p.m. on September 7.

A separate CCTV inside the building showed a hand, believed to be of one of the three minors, taking the device through a window a few minutes after.

Lobregas told DYRD Balita that the suspects did not forcibly open the window as its lock was broken and still scheduled to be fixed.

At 0:07, a hand is seen going through the window and apparently taking an item from a room inside the church.

Based on their investigation, police indicated that the minors are notorious thieves.

They identified the suspects, all residents of Targbilaran City, as “Pantat” and “Noli” of Calceta Street and “Liboy” of Sitio Ubos.

Personnel of the TCPS’ theft and robbery section have been tasked to conduct a follow-up probe on the case. (W. Maestrado)
