A construction worker was gunned down by a still unidentified suspect in Ubay on Monday night.
Police identified the victim as Rolando Alingig, 50, a resident of Purok 7, Barangay Bolilis in Ubay.
The fatal shooting took place at 9 p.m. outside Alingig’s house, police said.
Based on the report of the victim’s family to authorities, Alingig went out of their house after hearing prolonged barking from their pet dogs.
The Alingigs inside the house then heard a loud gunshot prompting them to go after Rolando.
However, they found the victim already sprawled on the ground with a gunshot wound.
He was still rushed to a hospital but the attending physician declared him dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, police are still facing a blank wall as to the motive behind the fatal shooting of Alingig.
Investigations are also still ongoing as police move to identify the gunman. (ad)
