The entire province of Bohol will be experiencing a 13-hour power outage on December 2.
This was bared by Bohol Cooperative I general manager Dino Roxas after he was notified by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) on Wednesday.
According to Roxas, the power blackout is expected to start at 5 a.m. and end at 6 p.m. on the same day.
The NGCP said in a statement that the blackout will be due to an annual preventive maintenance work of the power grid’s systems.

NGCP personnel will be servicing equipment in Ubay and Corella particularly the substations’ 100 MVA transformer, 14 MVAR Shunt reactor and the 69-kilovolt PCBs.
According to the NGCP, maintenance work will also be conducted on its 138-kV Maasin-Ubay submarine cable on the same day.
With the scheduled power outrage, the NGCP and Bohol’s distribution utilities called on the public to prepare for the half-day blackout.
The NGCP also assured that it will make efforts to resume power services before the scheduled resumption at 6 p.m. (R. Tutas)
