A man landed in the hospital after sustaining a large hack wound in his chest allegedly inflicted by his bolo-wielding father after an altercation in Dagohoy town which erupted from an argument on how to cut up and divide a slaughtered pig.
Victim Cecilio Man-on Jr., 37, of Barangay San Miguel in Dagohoy was allegedly hacked by his father, Cecilio Man-on Sr. using a bolo at around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday near the latter’s residence in Barangay Poblacion of said town.
In a report, police noted that the younger Man-on, prior to the hacking incident, argued with his former live-in partner Lolita Caranog over the division of pig parts which they intended to sell leading to a physical tussle between the two.
The older Man-on then intervened and tried to break off the fight.

However, Junior did not listen prompting Senior to grab his bolo and allegedly used it to hack his son’s chest.
Junior was reportedly still able to flee even after sustaining a hack wound and run towards a barangay health center.
Senior followed him but the suspect was eventually restrained by passersby, and the victim was able to hide inside the health facility.
Junior was then rushed to a hospital in Tagbilaran City while his father voluntarily surrendered to police.
Meanwhile, Senior told dyRD Balita on Thursday that his son had previously attempted to hack him twice before their latest encounter.
Senior said that Junior always ignored him when he tried to restrain his son when he was beating up Caranog.
“Nausab iyang batasan sukad pag abot niya [Junior] dinhi gikan sa Manila,” said Senior who also noted that his son was a drug user.
However, Junior’s legal wife Jennifer Man-on who is in Canada said that her husband and the older Man-on have long had a strained relationship.
She admitted that her husband previously tried to hack his father with a bolo but this was after Senior maltreated Junior’s mother.
Jennifer also said that Senior always beat up his wife citing one incident wherein the suspect hit the latter with a coconut prompting Junior to defend her.
According to Jennifer, her husband stopped using illegal drugs in 2015.
Meanwhile, Senior is now detained at the lock-up jail in Dagohoy while the victim who is now in stable condition said that he intends to file charges against the suspect. (Allen Doydora)
