A 26-year-old woman was reportedly able to escape from an alleged rape attempt against her by a knife-wielding suspect inside her home in Tagbilaran City.
Victim Lara (not her real name) reported to the Tagbilaran City police’s Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD) that the suspect suddenly barged into her house in Sitio Candait, Barangay Dampas.
Lara who appeared to be severely shaken up by the alleged rape attempt told police that the incident happened in the afternoon of Sunday.
According to Lara, the still unidentified suspect dashed towards her and pointed the knife at her throat.
The man then covered her mouth with his hand and told her “ayaw’g syagit kay patay gyud mo.”
However, Lara was able to overpower and push the suspect while his knife fell to the ground.
The victim then asked for help from neighbors while the suspect immediately fled the area.
Meanwhile, the WCPD continued its investigation on the case to identify the suspect based on information gathered from Lara.
