Commission on Elections (Comelec) offices will remain open today, despite the nationwide holiday in commemoration of Bonifacio Day, to accept voter registration.
Today will be the last day of voter registration for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls, said Malou Cempron of the Provincial Comelec Office.
Comelec offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
According to Cempron, there has been a low turnout of willing voters since voter registration started on November 6.
She noted that only 7,753 people have so far registered as of November 26.
The figure included applicants for both the SK at 3,703 and 2,399 for regular voter registration applicants, she said.
However, Cempron clarified that those who had already signed up are not yet registered voters.
The applications will still be reviewed by the Election Review Board at the Comelec’s head office in Manila. (Rey Tutas)
