A fire which reportedly broke out at past 4 p.m. on Monday gutted a 500-sqm house in Barangay Songculan in Dauis town.
The house is owned by a barangay councilor of the said village, Corazon Aranas.
According to a neighbor of Aranas who was interviewed by dyRD Balita, they heard two loud blasts prior to the fire.
Several minutes after the incident, fire started to engulf the house of Aranas.

Firemen from Tagbilaran City and Dauis immediately responded to the fire but the house was already almost completely gutted when they arrived.
Firefighters continue to battle the flames as of this posting.
Four firetrucks have reportedly been deployed to the scene.
