A 23-year-old man was killed while another was hospitalized and in critical condition after their motorcycles collided head on in Talibon at past 7 a.m. on Friday.
PO3 Lapera Fernando identified the fatality as Mark Autida, 23, of Talibon and injured driver as Al Erich Fuentes, 57, of Getafe.
According to Fernando, Autida’s passenger, a 17-year-old female minor also sustained multiple injuries but was in stable condition.
Fernando said that based on their initial investigation Autida was heading towards the central district of Talibon while Feuntes was going to Getafe when both smashed straight into each other.
Autida reportedly swerved towards the opposite lane as he attempted to overtake another vehicle causing him to collide head on against Fuentes.
The three victims were rushed to a hospital but Autida was declared dead on arrival.
Authorities said that he sustained severe injuries particularly in his head.
According to Fernando, all three victims were not wearing safety gear including helmets during the accident.
Audita was reportedly travelling at a high speed prior to the accident. (A. Doydora)
