A man whose residence in Maribojoc was declared “drug-cleared” and his live-in partner were arrested roadside by police in an anti-drug operation on Wednesday night.

Police identified the suspect as Allan Rasonabe, 36, a resident of Barangay Cabawan in Maribojoc and his live-in partner as Mia Jala, 28, who was also taken into police custody.

In a report, police said that they spotted Rasonabe and Jala selling illegal drugs on board a motorcycle in Maribojoc.

Authorities led by Maribojoc police chief Insp. Jose dela Fuente then set up a buy-bust operation against the suspect.

Rasonabe allegedly sold shabu worth P500 to a poseur-buyer resulting in his immediate arrest while Jala yielded two packets of shabu.

According to dela Fuente, Rasonabe was listed in their drug watch list as a priority target but was later removed as his residence was declared “drug-cleared.”

However, police found out through monitoring operations that the suspect continued to operate as a drug dealer, dela Fuente said.

Both suspects are now detained at the Maribojoc police lock-up jail pending the filing of drug charges against them. (WM)
