A male nurse landed in the hospital after he was shot by a still unidentified motorcycle-riding suspect in Calape on Sunday night.
The victim, identified as Steffer Lee Yap, 29, of Barangay Desamparados, Calape was eating dinner inside his neighbor’s house when the gunman called him out and then shot him, said SPO1 Angelo Namang.
However, Namang said that the suspect appeared to have no intention of killing the victim.
According to Namang, the suspect shot Yap once in his right leg using a .45 caliber pistol.
The shooter had one companion who was driving their motorcycle. Both of them wore helmets and partly covered their faces with cloths, Namang added.
Yap was rushed to a hospital while the gunman and his companion immediately fled the area.
Namang said that investigators still have no established motive and possible suspects behind the gun attack.
Yap who continued to recuperate from his injury at a hospital claimed that he had not engaged in any recent conflict. (A. Doydora)
