A man lost his right leg after he figured in a gruesome motorcycle accident in Carmen, Bohol on Thursday night.

The leg of the victim from the knee down was severed after his motorcycle crashed along a national road in Barangay Bueno Aires, Carmen on Thursday night.

According to PO1 Nisel Pescante of the Carmen Police Station, Mark Pacatang accidentally rammed a cart which carried a thresher and was being pulled by carabao at past 6 p.m.

Pacatang was unable to notice the carabao-drawn sled as the area was dimly lit.

Authorities believe that Pacatang’s leg hit the blade of the thresher upon impact.

Pescante said that the carabao ran amok after it was frightened by the accident but no one else was injured.

The carabao’s operator, Darwin Tumanda, was also unharmed.

Pacatang meanwhile was already in stable condition but continued to be treated for his injuries. (A. Doydora)
