A total of 889 non-commissioned police officers of the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) and various police units in the province were promoted to the next rank.
Police Regional Office 7 director Brigadier General Debold Sinas led the donning of ranks at the CPG Sports Complex in Tagbilaran City on Wednesday.
A separate ceremony however was held in Cebu City on Tuesday for eight executive master sergeants (PEMS) who were promoted to become commissioned officers as lieutenants.
The new police lieutenants are PEMS Elver Divinagracia, PEMS Lucianio Fuentes, PEMS Ramon Rulona, PEMS Teofanes Olaso, PEMS Jefrin Eulogio, PEMS Susano Corsiga, Jr., PEMS Ralph Celosia and PEMS Josue Lungog.
According to the BPPO, seven were promoted to PEMS, 22 to chief master sergeant, 99 to senior master sergeant, 137 to master sergeant, 289 to staff sergeant and 327 to corporal.
All 889 police officers were assigned to various units including the Camp Francisco Dagohoy-based BPPO, Aviation Security Group, Maritime Police and Regional Mobile Force Battalion.
The newly promoted police personnel took oath to uphold their duties before Sinas and Governor Edgar Chatto who was the event’s guest of honor.

Sinas reminded the police force to maintain its fight against the narcotics trade and other forms of criminality.
The Philippine National Police regularly holds mass promotions to give honor and recognition to deserving PNP uniformed personnel and to uplift the morale of the police force. (R. Tutas)
