Teen falls in Tubigon drug bust

A teenager who was previously committed to a drug rehabilitation facility in Cebu was arrested by police for sale of illegal drugs in Tubigon at dawn on Wednesday.

Police collared Jay Ungab, 18, who was included in the town’s drug watchlist through a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Centro, Tubigon at past 4 a.m., said Ferndinand Ceballos of the Tubigon Police Station.

According to Ceballos, they seized shabu worth P47,600 from Ungab following his arrest.

Ungab is now detained at the Tubigon Police Station lock-up jail pending the filing of charges against him for sale and possession of illegal drugs.

In 2018, Ungab who was then 18 years old was arrested for alleged possession of shabu. He was caught violating a night-to-dawn curfew for minors and was found to have been possession of illegal drugs.

He was committed to the Department of Health’s Treatment and Rehabilitation Center in Barangay Candabong, Argao, Cebu.

Ceballos said that Ungab resumed his involvement in the narcotics trade after his release from the facility.

Ungab was also earlier tagged as suspect in a carnapping incidents in Calape (A. Doydora)
