Some 170 synodal delegates are expected to join the event including the bishops led by CBCP president Caloocan Bishop Pablo Virgilio David, priests, nuns, lay persons and representatives from various sectors.

Laniba said all delegates may join the retreat but the plenary assembly will be exclusive to bishops.

Earlier, Tagbilaran Bishop Alberto Uy, said welcoming the bishops of the country is both an honor and a blessing. He then asked the faithful to pray for the success of the said gathering.

“This is truly a moment of grace and a source of great honor for our province. Let us pray that this gathering of shepherds may bring about positive changes,” Bishop Uy told Radio Veritas.

The bishops will gather during the plenary assembly to pray and address pressing matters that impact the Church and the communities they serve.
