A self-confessed drug personality who recently surrendered to police in Tagbilaran City was apprehended in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion, Sikatuna on Friday afternoon.

The suspect, 20-year-old Carlo “Caloy” Cuering, a resident of Carnava Drive, Barangay Cogon, Tagbilaran City, attempted to escape arrest but was immediately restrained by operatives of the Sikatuna police.

According to PO3 Jerry Macabudbod, a police poseur-buyer was able to purchase a pack of suspected shabu from Cuering in exchange for P500 resulting in the suspect’s arrest.

The operatives, led by Sikatuna police chief Senior Insp. Francis Auguis, recovered three other packs of shabu from Cuering during the operation.

Cuering admitted to drug use but claimed that he discontinued to engage in the illegal activity after yielding to authorities in Tagbilaran City.

He is currently detained at a jail in the Sikatuna Police Station awaiting charges to be filed against him. (Willy Maestrado and Rey Tutas)
