An alleged drug dealer, along with his father and brother, was arrested by police during an anti-drug operation in Tagbilaran City on Wednesday night.

In a report, police said that their target Elreymund Estallo, 20, of Barangay Taloto in Tagbilaran, was arrested for alleged sale and possession of illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation near his home.

He allegedly yielded shabu weighing 15 grams which had an estimated street value of P102,000.

Meanwhile, Estallo’s father and brother, identified as Elmer Legazpi, 49, and John Estallo, 25, respectively were also arrested for obstruction of justice and direct assault.

According to police, Elreymund noticed that he was being subjected to buy-bust operation prompting him to run towards his house.

Authorities said that Elmer and John then confronted and pushed off the pursuing police officers. They also allegedly tried to take the firearm of a cop but were immediately subdued.

According to Tagbilaran City police chief Lt. Col. Christopher Navida, Elreymund has inmate contacts at the Bohol District Jail who arrange the deliver of his drug supply.

Navida said that since there has been a low supply of illegal drugs in the city, the drugs seized from Elreymund was already considered as a large stash.

Elreymund’s name surfaced in the past weeks as one of the active players in the city’s drug trade following successive arrest of drug dealers in late May and early June.

He is now under the custody of the Tagbilaran City Police Station pending the filing of possession and sale of illegal drugs. (W. Maestrado)
