Tagbilaran City College to use old HSS building

A building in the old campus of the Holy Spirit School (HSS) in Tagbilaran City will be used for classes of students of the new government-owned Tagbilaran City College (TCC).

The TCC which offers vocational courses to underprivileged but deserving students will temporarily hold classes in the said school structure at the corner of Carlos P. Garcia Ave. and J. Borja Street.

According to Tagbilaran City Sangguniang Panlungsod secretary Mansueta Sale, the SP has made an approval to allow the city government to enter a lease agreement with HSS administrators.

The lease rate was set at P1 per month, Sale said.

HSS has transferred its facilities at a new campus in Barangay Dao, Tagbilaran City.

In the SP’s session today, local lawmakers noted that TCC students can start to occupy the old HSS building during the next school year and after minor repairs are implemented.

According to Councilor Ondoy Borja, the Tagbilaran government is targeting to start construction of TCC’s own facilities before the year ends.

The P10-M TCC building will be a four-storey structure which can accommodate 300 to 500 students.

This will primarily cater to underprivileged residents of Tagbilaran City. (Allen Doydora)
