Two male and two female suspects were arrested in an anti-narcotics operation conducted by police in Barangay Dampas, Tagbilaran City on Sunday evening.
In a report, police indicated that one of the suspects, Ronald Gan, a resident of the said village, was spotted by authorities as he was selling illegal drugs with one John Florence Castro along Jansen Heights.
This prompted operatives of the Tagbilaran City Police Station to set a buy-bust operation against the suspects who were then both arrested.
According to authorities, Gan was able to initially flee as he noticed that he was transacting with a police poseur-buyer.
However, he was cornered at his home and arrested along with Castro and two female suspects identified as Karen Cates Coma and Ma. Nena Pequino who were allegedly sniffing shabu in the vicinity.
In the same report, police also noted that the suspects were caught with drug paraphernalia and suspected shabu which were then taken to the police crime lab for analysis.
According to P/Sr. Insp. Erano Regidor, possession and sale of illegal drug charges were filed against Gan and Castro.
The two female suspect, meanwhile, were charged for violation against Section 15 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, or the use of illegal drugs, said Regidor.
All suspects are still detained at the Tagbilaran City lock-up jail. (Weli Maestrado)
