A 20-year-old man was killed while another was injured after a motorcycle they were riding slammed into an electric post along J.A. Clarin Street in Tagbilaran City at past 3:30 a.m. on Thursday.

The driver, identified as Charlie Cepe of Baangay Dampas in Tagbilaran City, succumbed to severe injuries to the head.

Meanwhile, Cepe’s passenger, Ronmar Bernales, 22, of Barangay Tangkigan, Mabini broke his right leg.

Based on initial police investigation, Cepe was driving towards his home when he lost control of his motorcycle causing it to slide towards a gutter and straight to an electric post of Bohol Light Company Inc.


Both Cepe and Bernales were reportedly under the influence of alcohol and were not wearing protective gear including helmets during the incident.

According to police, Cepe died on the spot while Bernales was rushed to a nearby hospital where he continues to receive treatment for his injuries. (AD)
