The barangay leadership of each of Dauis’ 12 villages will be allocated P1 million each as support from the municipal government for various projects.
This was announced by Dauis Mayor Miriam Sumaylo during the oath-taking of the newly elected barangay officials of the town on Friday.
According to Sumaylo, the funds will be funneled to the barangays once the new village officials start office and program of works are submitted.
“Ineg lingkod ninyo, magama na mo og program of works para sa ayuda gikan sa lungsod sa Dauis, tag 1 milyon pesos para sa inyohang barangay,” said Sumaylo.
The newly elected Dauis barangay officials took their oath before Governor Edgar Chatto and the town’s municipal councilors at the Dauis Covered Court.
Chatto, for his part, also vowed to extend support to the town’s village officials.
Meanwhile, the national government has donated a Rosenbauer firetruck to the municipality of Dauis. The vehicle is bigger and newer than the town’s current firetruck.
Tagbilaran City and Dauis were the only localities in Bohol that were given new firetrucks by the national government. (rt)
