A fugitive child sex abuse suspect, deemed one of Bohol’s most wanted persons, was finally arrested on Sunday in Misamis Oriental after years in hiding.
The police had an arrest warrant against suspect Dante Ochavillio, 38, for alleged sex abuse against a now-18-year-old woman.
Police said that the victim was suffering from a mental illness and was a minor when the suspect allegedly inserted his finger into her private organ in Garcia Hernandez, Bohol in February of 2013.
According to Garcia Hernandez police chief Sr. Insp. Lito Rosales, Ochavillio was spotted by Misamis Oriental police personnel in Zone 3, Barangay Sinaloc, El Salvador of said province.
Operatives from the Garcia Hernandez Police Station and Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office then arrested Ochavillo in the said village.
The officers apprehended the suspect by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Dionisio Calibo, Jr. of the Regional Trial Court Branch 50 in Loay, said Rosales.
Ochavillio has been transported to Bohol and detained at the Garcia Hernandez Police Station lock-up facility. (W. Maestrado)
