The Land Transportation Office (LTO) ceased its operations in Jagna as it vacated its office after almost two decades of operating in the town.

The LTO Jagna District Office was given until July 31 to use the office space before it was turned over to the Land Bank of the Philippines.

According to Garcia Hernandez municipal administrator Nilo Salise, the LTO’s equipment have been transferred to the town’ motor pool, which has been proposed to be the agency’s new office.

However, Salise said that the LTO has yet to resume operations due to lack of requirements which were still being processed through the agency’s head office and the Department of Transportation.

He projected that the processes will be completed by next week allowing the LTO to resume operations.

The LTO is also awaiting Garcia Hernandez Mayor Tita Gallantes to sign a usufruct agreement which was earlier approved by the town’s Sangguniang Bayan.

Based on the agreement, the LTO is permitted to use the local government unit’s (LGU) office space for 20 years without payment.

Salise said that the LTO 7’s technical working group earlier approved of the LGU’s building as their new office. (A. Doydora)
