A 41-year-old man was shot dead by motorcycle-riding men who rode in tandem right across an elementary school in Panglao on Sunday night.

The fatality, identified as Marcelo Delabida, a habal-habal driver living in Barangay Tawala Panglao, was rushed to a hospital following the shooting but was declared dead on arrival.

According to PO3 Gergorio Perocho, Delabida was sitting outside a store located across the Bolod Elementary School in Barangay Bolod when the two gunmen suddenly stopped in front of him and shot at him.

Delabida sustained four gunshot wounds in his abdomen, crotch and two arms, said Perocho.

Police found spent of a .45 caliber pistol in the crime scene.

Perocho said that investigators are eyeing a love triangle and involvement as possible motives behind the killing.

Delabida was reportedly involved in illegal drug activities based on reports from barangay officials in his village.

However, Delabida was not listed as among those who surrendered under Oplan Tokhang in Pangalo. (R. Tutas)
