Two brothers, aged 22 and 18, and one other male suspect, all deemed to be high-value targets in the police’s anti-drug drive were arrested during a raid which yielded a large amount of shabu in Tagbilaran City on Tuesday night.

According to Tagbilaran City police chief Lieutenant Col. Christopher Navida, they seized P350k worth of shabu from Johanse Ceballos, 22, Christian Ceballos, 18 and Harley Carillo, 27, at the Ceballos residence in Barangay Tiptip at past 7 p.m.

The seized drugs were contained in two large packs and three packets which were estimated to weigh 52 grams.

Navida said that the Ceballos’ brothers were peddling illegal drugs in the Tagbilaran City and neighboring towns based on their monitoring operations.

The police operatives raided the home bearing a search warrant against the Ceballos’ brothers issued by Judge Leo Moises Lison of the Regional Trial Court Branch 3 in Tagbilaran City.

Navida said that the Ceballos brothers were arrested for drug possession in April, but were immediately released after posting bail.

This time however the brothers and their alleged cohort in the drug trade are unlikely to be able to post bail for their temporary liberty.

“More than five grams is no bail ‘yan, and then umabot ng 50 grams. I think mahiriripan na sila na maka-bail,” Navida said.

All three suspects are now under the custody of the Tagbilaran City Police Station pending the filing of illegal drug charges against them. (AD)
