Two male thieves were spotted in a footage taken from closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera mounted along a street in Barangay Poblacion III in Tagbilaran City after allegedly stealing a goat.

Both men who remained unidentified have also been tagged as suspects in the theft of a goat owned by Judge Inday Ochoco in Corella and another goat tethered to a house in Barangay Dampas in Tagbilaran.

According to authorities, the latest victim was one Hermigildo Manatad, 43, of J.S. Torralba Street, Barangay Poblacion III in Tagbilaran.

Manatad told police that he tied his goat to a post near the church along the said road but a few minutes after leaving it there, the animal was already missing at around 7 a.m. on Monday.

He then alerted authorities including the village’s barangay captain, Ode Glovasa, who in turn reviewed the CCTV footage taken near where the goat was tethered.

Authorities then saw the two suspects on board a blue motorcycle with plate number TJ6268.

However, as police traced the said plate number they found that it was registered to a female resident of Makati City for a different type of motorcycle.

Personnel of the Tagbilaran City Police Station’s theft and robbery section have been tasked to conduct a follow-up probe on the case.

Based on their initial investigation, both suspects have also been involved in previous theft cases including the stealing of Ochoco’s goat from her residence. (W. Maestrado)
