A suspected drug dealer was allegedly caught in possession of shabu and a firearm when police raided his house in Barangay Lourdes, Cortes at dawn on Wednesday.
According to Cortes police chief Sr. Insp. Camilo Estrera, suspect Ramil “Mata” Balo, 28, was previously urged by police to end involvement in narcotics trade but continued to sell illegal drugs.
Balo was allegedly caught in possession of seven pieces of small heat-sealed transparent sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to shabu and a .38 caliber revolver.
The Cortes police raided Balo’s residence at 4 a.m. armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Suceso Arcamo of the Regional Trial Court Branch 47 in Tagbilaran City.
The arrested suspect will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (W. Maestrado)
