Chinese national dies in Panglao road mishap

Authorities start to move a multicab which crashed and fell on its side along the Airport Road in Panglao town on Tuesday night.

A 44-year-old Chinese national died after the multicab he was driving crashed just several meters away from the Bohol Panglao International Airport in Panglao town on Tuesday night, police said.

The fatality identified as Junfeng Pan, a temporary resident of Barangay Dao, Dauis was still rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival, said Senior Master Sgt. Manuel Rabanal of the Panglao Police Station.

According to Rabanal, Pan was believed to have been speeding at the intersection then he lost control of the vehicle as he turned towards the Airport Road.

Tan went over the center island hitting a coconut tree and a lamppost. His multicab fell on its side.

“Gikan ni sa Alona kuno unya kusog gadagan hantod sa likuon sa airport, wa siguro ma familiar sa karsada aning intersection. Hing latay aning center island maong natumba iyang gisakyan,” said Rabanal.

Tan was alone inside the ill-fated vehicle while there were no other vehicles involved in the incident.

Rabanal noted that a 40kph speed limit is implemented along the Airport Road.

“Hing lapas to [speed limit]. Makita sa damages sa sakyanan na kusog g’yud ang impact,” he said. (A. Doydora)
