BOHOLANOS TO TORONTO FOR 2017 CONBUSAC

2017 is two years away.  Yet Boholanos in the United States and Canada are already initially undertaking preparations as the Confederation of Boholanos in the United States and Canada (CONBUSAC) will hold it’s 17th biennial convention in Toronto, Canada in July 2017.

Newly-elected CONBUSAC President Dr. Rhine Victoriano T. Pamaong is on top of the feverish preparation as he vowed to provide an exciting and fun-filled gathering of Boholanos in Toronto in 2017.

Toronto is the capital of Ontario, Canada. It is an ethnically diversed city sprawling along Lake Ontario’s northwestern shore.  Downtown Toronto is a captivating metropolis with skyscrapers including the iconic CN Tower.
A world-class tourist destination, Toronto visitors are offered an array of attractions such as museums, art galleries, the famous Toronto zoo, the cluster of islands named Toronto islands and historical sites.  Toronto is also a haven for migrating Filipinos including Boholanos scattered all over Canada.

Dr. Pamaong becomes the first CONBUSAC president residing outside the United States. He presently lives in Vaughan, a city north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is currently the vice president of the Bohol Association of Canada which will host the 17th CNBUSAC biennial convention in 2017.  The group’s president is Dr. Romy Sinajon who hails from Albur, Bohol.

The reigning 2015 Mrs. CONBUSAC is Mrs. Gemma Asingua Ungab representing the Bohol Association of Canada.  The crown was turned over by 2013 Mrs. CONBUSAC Mrs. Fidela Uy also from the same group from Canada. They comprised the  biggest delegation that attended the just-concluded 16th biennnial convention held July 10-12, 2015 in Newark, New Jersey, USA.

  1. RHINE VICTORIANO T. PAMAONG

The Tagbilaran-born physician is currently connected with a family practice group in Toronto, Canada.  He pursued an independent training in aesthetic medicine and continuing medical education exclusively focused on Neuromodulators,   dermal fillers, chemical peels and medical lasers.

Dr. Pamaong is a professor at the Osilla Institute of Health Care Personnel in Toronto. He pursued post graduate courses obtaining Certification in Medical Aesthetics at the Canadian Beauty College in Toronto.  He finished Medical LaserTechnology course at the Canadian Aesthetic Academy.

Prior to his departure abroad, Dr. Pamaong underwent his surgical residency at Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital in Tagbilaran City. He earned his doctorate degree at the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial MedicalCentre in Quezon City.  He finished his Bachelor of Science in Biology (Pre-Medicine) at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City.

His wife, Dr. Chelo Roska-Pamaong is a graduate at Cebu Doctor’s College of Medicine in Cebu City.  She is presenlty connected with St. Michael’s Hospital, Apheresis, in Toronto and also at Stanford Univesity Hospital and Clinics Advanced Cancer Research, Apheresis Care Group in San Francisco, California, USA.

The Pamaongs have two children –  21-year-old Rhine Victor, a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology graduate from University of Toronto and 15-year-old Luc Edmund, a high school student at Brebeuf Catholic School in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada.

Rhine is the son of former Tagbilaran Vice Mayor Luciano (Sunny) A. Pamaong, Sr. and the late Diosdada Putong Telmo. (Bong P. Dejaresco)
