Two former city councilors of Tagbilaran died two days apart in the first week of August.
Atty. Uriel R. Leopando Sr. died Aug. 4 at the age of 94 while retired City Prosecutor Nemesia Cafe-Uy died on Aug. 6 at the age of 70. Both served as city councilor during the term of the late City Mayor Jose Ma. Rocha.Â Leopando even served as city lawmaker for a longer time since he was already at the City Council when former Gov. Rolando Butalid was then city mayor.
The remains of Leopando lie in state at their residence at Torero Private Road. On Friday, his remains will be brought to the UCCP Church in Buenavista town where interment will be held on Saturday. He will be accorded with a 21-gun salute. He was a former trustee and professor of the University of Bohol.
Meanwhile, Uy’s remains lie in state at their residence in Booy district, this city . Interment will be on Sunday at the Dampas Catholic Cemetery after a requiem mass at the Guadalupe Church in Booy at 1:00pm.
