The Philippine National Police (PNP) is on alert amid reports of terrorists moving in the country.

A highly placed source said the alert followed after a widely spread news from CNN reported of the intelligence report stating the need to monitor the entry of terrorists in the country.

The alert was raised last night but with no specific details on where the terrorists are heading.

Reports said that a certain PO3 Gonzales of the Philippine Coast Guard reported of an information relayed by PO3 Lusa of the Maritime Police (Bohol) that two platoons of terrorists are en route to the region.

However, PNP sources asked the public to remain calm while the police and other government agencies are placed on alert since after the CNN report was monitored worldwide.
