A drug personality who remits by the millions of pesos to his Manila-based supplier failed to notice a poseur-buyer which led to his arrest inside his occupied safe house in barangay Dampas, this city as what police operatives described as a product of a tedious surveillance for more than a month.
The drug suspect identified as Jan Joshua L. Agta, 24, was able to make good his last deal two days before he was cornered by operatives at 10:30 yesterday morning.
P/Supt. Nicomedes Olaivar, team leader told The Chronicle last night that Agta just remitted P1.3 million of his proceeds during a two-day operation the day before his arrest. The brisk drug operation of Agta would generate no less than P3 million weekly as she controls most of the distribution network in the city, aside from his supply getting to the Bohol District Jail in Cabawan district, this city.
Police said his remittances are now being traced after records recovered from the suspect yielded deposit slips at BDO and some through M. Lhuiller Pawnshop. His last bulk supply of shabu arrived last Monday. However, operatives could not penetrate his cover due to several shabu buyers visiting him in his safe house located at Joiki’s boarding house.
Residents in the area, including the owner of the boarding house said they did not notice the drug operation of Agta who is known to be the sexiest gay in town during his younger years, fresh from his nursing course in one of the city’s universities. The drug personality maintains a sizeable layer of drug buyers being a prominent personality in the city. In fact, he completed his high school in a prestigious city college.
P/Supt Olaivar said information gathered from the drug suspect has led to the identities of other top drug dealers in the city and even in the towns who were added to their list of drug personalities.
Agta, police said, maintains safe houses in the towns, one in Maribojoc where shabu supply getting through Loon and Tubigon ports is transported prior to its distribution mostly in the city.
It may be recalled that PNP Prov’l Director Dennis Agustin who is known for his serious war against drugs recently announced thru the media that more drug personalities will be arrested in the next few weeks. This is in answer to the clamor of the Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (BCCI) that drug campaign should get the “big fish” in the syndicate, and not just the ordinary drug users.
Olaivar said the marching order of PNP Chief Agustin is a “no let-up” fight against drugs.
The campaign against drugs recently arrested top drug personalities identified as Adriano Castolo alias “Wotwot,” 28, Eden Salinas, 28 who were arrested in Cabawan district with P100,000 worth of shabu in their possession, Lemuel Guadez, 38, top drug dealer in Tubigon with P150,000 worth of shabu and Loay’s drug king Ronald Taer alias “Batsoy”, 34.
The drive against drugs intensified even more with the recent successive operations of the city based offices of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) acting upon orders by NBI Director Dodong Mendez whose credibility in the anti-drug campaign remains high as compared to other government agencies.
