Mahinay crowned Miss CONBUSAC

Mia Grace Alfarero Mahinay, who was the candidate of the Bohol Association of Canada, host of the recently concluded 17th biennnial convention of the Confederation of Boholanos in the United States and Canada (CONBUSAC) won the most coveted title of Miss Bohol USA and Canada pageant. Mahinay whose parents are from Corella and San Isidro, Tagbilaran City, was crowned by Bohol Gov. Edgar Chatto assisted by Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Evasco Jr. and Gemma Asingua Ungab, Mrs. CONBUSAC 2015, during the gala night in Toronto, Canada.

First runner up was Sep Adrein Regencia, of New York and New Jersey, second runner up was Ariane Marielle Latras of Florida, third runner was Almarie Sarigumba of Illinois, and fourth runner up, Halley Tejano of Texas.

The sponsoring organization Bohol Association of Canada as well as well as Mahinay’s parents expressed their appreciation for the support they provided to Mahinay.

Outgoing CONBUSAC president Dr. Rhine Pamaong thanked all Boholanos and other guests who joined the recent CONBUSAC biennial convention in Toronto, Canada. Elected as new CONBUSAC president is Dr. Anita Cal Jackson of California who hails from Tagbilaran City. The State of California will then host the next CONBUSAC biennial convention in July 2019.

Gov. Chatto and Cabinet secretary Evasco were the guest speakers during the gala night and coronation night Archbishop Bernardito Auza, permanent observer of the Vatican to the United Nations officiated at the thanksgiving mass and also the guest speaker during the family night. The three-day affair was capped with a picnic at the Beach Park in Toronto, Canada.
