2.4-magnitude quake hits near Tagbilaran

A 2.4-magnitude quake struck near Tagbilaran City late Monday morning, the the state seismic bureau said.

In a 10:51 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said that the temblor hit two kilometers northeast of Tagbilaran City at 10:40 a.m.

Phivolcs said that the earthquake was of tectonic origin and hit at a depth of 25 kilometers below the ground.

The earthquake had no significant intensities. Meanwhile, station dyRD reporter Rey Tutas also reported that the shaking was not felt in the city.

No aftershocks and damages are expected from the quake, Phivolcs added.

Last month, at least six mild tremors were recorded in the province.
