In October 2014, the Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) in Manila, in coordination with the provincial police force and the municipal police team of Alburquerque, tracked down to Bohol, one Tyron Dela Cruz— tagged as most wanted in Manila for a number of kidnap-for-ransom cases and a string of carnapping cases in Cavite.

The police team blocked Dela Cruz at a checkpoint on October 22 last year where he tried to escape but was trapped by the pursuing cops after an accident at a boundary barangay between Alburquerque and Baclayon.
