UNITED FOR PROGRESS. City Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap supports City Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Veloso during the Provincial Chapter Election and Oath-Taking Ceremony of the Vice-Mayor’s League of the Philippines. Together for development, the City Government of Tagbilaran with its executive and legislative body shall continuously bring Tagbilaranons the best services as a progressive city of peace and friendship.

“The pro-active collaboration between the Executive and Legislative department of the City Government has been instrumental in delivering the necessary and crucial services to our beloved constituents,” said Mayor Yap during his message in the 2016 Provincial Chapter Election and Oath-Taking Ceremony of the Vice-Mayor’s League of the Philippines last night.

The City Mayor recognized the cooperation and unity of the legislative headed by Vice-Mayor Toto Veloso in Tagbilaran City’s quest of achieving its development goals. The Local Chief Executive promised that the partnership is expected to bring in more inclusive and sustainable growth for Tagbilaran.

During the 2nd regular session of the 13th Sangguniang Panlungsod, with Majority Floor Leader Councilor Atty. Adam Relson Jala, Councilors Joseph Bompat, Philip Besas, Alberta Toralba, Atty. Dodong Gonzaga, Dulce Glovasa, Jonas Cacho, Ondoy Borja, Agalon Polinar and Greggy Gatal, three pivotal Memorandum of Agreements were approved, authorizing Mayor Yap to enter into negotiations with the National Food Authority in the procurement of rice during emergencies, Department of Social Welfare and Development for the implementation and development of social protection programs which would address the needs of the poor, empower citizens and promote inclusive growth in Tagbilaran and with the Bureau of Soils and Water Management of the Department of Agriculture to avail of the Composting Facility for Biodegradable Wastes. Approval of these agreements would mean ease of service delivery to the Tagbilaranons.
