12 drug suspects arrested, alive

Police continued to score in the relentless drive against illegal drugs, with at least a dozen alleged pushers arrested “alive”.

Last week’s accomplishments included the arrest of a suspected big-time drug pusher in Sierra-Bullones, Daryl Louie Quimson, through warrants of arrests- -one for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Article II, Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and the other for violation of R.A. 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act for Unlawful Possession of Small firearm and Ammunition.

Presiding Judge Patsita Sarmiento-Gamutan of the Regional Trial Court Branch 51 in Carmen issued the warrants of arrest.

Sierra-Bullones Police Station officer in-charge, Inspector Geronimo Conarco, said Quimson ranked 3rd in the watchlist of drug personalities in their town.

Quimson, 31, a jobless resident of Sitio Concepcion, Poblacion, Sierra Bullones, had previously been arrested by the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) team of the Bohol Police Provincial Office in a raid on April 22 near the Dagohoy Lodge Masonic Cemetery at J.A. Clarin St. in barangay Cogon, Tagbilaran City.

The PIB team supposed came for his aunt, Maida Quimson-Jabines, but also chanced on him, along with three other men during the raid. Quimson had then posted bail after being charged in court.

During the April 22 raid, the PIB team confiscated 2.2 kilos of shabu.

Earlier in the afternoon that day, Quimson managed to flee when law enforcers swooped down his residence in Poblacion, Sierra-Bullones only to be arrested at the house where his aunt was staying in Tagbilaran City later in the same afternoon.

OTHERS IN A DOZEN ARRESTS

Talibon police also posted the recent haul on last Friday in barangay Tanghaligue with the arrest one Nilbert Dajao, also known as Joel Dayao, a 42-year-old resident of the place who earlier yielded to authorities through Oplan Tokhang on August 12.

The buy-bust conducted at around 4:50 p.m. on August 19 after the intelligence personnel of Talibon police monitored that Dajao continued to peddle shabu to teenagers in Tanghaligue’s sub-village adjacent to barangay Bagacay during a barrio fiesta.

During the transaction last Friday, Dayao boarded his multicab and parked at a corner of the national highway, and right after handing the sachet of shabu and as poseur-buyer had just made the signal, Dayao he immediately drove his multicab towards the highway of barangay Sto. Niño.

The cops cornered him near the bridge that is undergoing repair.

Talibon police tagged him as Top 4 in the watchlist.

Aside from the sachet of shabu he sold to the poseur-buyer, the cops also recovered a rolled strip of aluminum tin foil and the two marked 500-peso bills used in the buy-bust operation from his possession.

Also on August 19, the police team of Valencia arrested the town’s 5th drug personality in the ranking, identified as one Allan Balite, 44-year-old resident of barangay Anas in a buy-bust operation conducted at around 3:30 p.m. at sitio Badiang.

The police team confiscated five small sachets of shabu from Balite.

In an earlier operation past 11 p.m. on August 16 in Valencia, the police team arrested another suspected drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in barangay Canmanico.

The police officers identified the arrested person as one Raymundo Diacor Jr., a 42-year-old resident of barangay Canmanico tagged as one of the top priority of the anti-illegal drugs task group.

Diacor yielded seven small sachets of shabu, and the marked money of P300; aside from the sachet of shabu he sold to the poseur-buyer.

In another buy-bust operation at around 10:45 a.m. on August 19 in Clarin, the Municipal Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (MAIDSOTG) arrested one Venerando Balansag.

Balansag, a 47-year-old resident of barangay Nahawan, had earlier yielded to authorities through Oplan Tokhang as a both a pusher and a user.

Aside from the sachet of shabu he sold to the poseur-buyer for P200, Balansag also yielded a medium-size sachet of shabu.

In Tubigon, the MAIDSOTG arrested one Dexter Maligmat during a buy-bust operation at around 2:15 p.m. on August 20 in barangay Tinangnan.

Maligmat, 36, married and a resident of barangay Pooc Occidental in Tubigon yielded two more small sachets of shabu, aside from the one he handed to the poseur-buyer.

Maligmat had also yielded through Oplan Tokhang on July 26 as he had been taged as Top 1 in the street-level target (SLT) of drug personalities in the town.

In Corella on August 18, the MAIDSOTG arrested one Dario Badiang Jr. in a buy-bust operation conducted at around 5:10 p.m. in Poblacion area where he also lives.

The police team recovered two sachets of shabu and the buy-bust money from him.

On the same day in Cortes, the municipal police team arrested another suspected drug pusher, identified as Loue Chiu, also known as “Odot”- -a 31-year-old sident of barangay San Roque and ranked 3rd in the Top 10 drug personalities of the town.

The police team confiscated two small sachets of shabu from him and the marked money during the buy-bust operation conducted at around 7:30 a.m. on that day in barangay Salvador.

In Tagbilaran, the police team arrested one Edward Galo Gepana during a buy-bust operation at around 1:30 a.m. on August 17 at Calceta Street in barangay Cogon.

The 35-year-old Gepana hails from Carbon, Cebu City and stayed at Calceta St. while in Tagbilaran City.

During the operation, the police team confiscated four sachets of shabu and the marked money from Gepana, aside from the small sachet of shabu he sold to the poseur-buyer.

On the same day, the police team of Balilihan also arrested a suspected drug pusher identified as one John Gerald Anson- -also known as “Kano”, a newly-identified drug personality in the (SLT) watchlist, was only 19, single and a jobless resident of barangay Magsija of the town.

During the operation conducted at around 11:25 a.m. in barangay Del Carmen Sur, the police team caught Anson selling a sachet of shabu to the poseur-buyer and later yielded two more small sachets of shabu and the marked money when frisked.

On August 15 in Ubay, the MAIDSOTG arrested one Ricardo Palmero, a 46-year-old “trisikad” driver, in a buy-bust operation conducted at around 4 p.m. in the sub-village of Son-oc in the Poblacion area.

After being arrested for selling a sachet of shabu to the poseur-buyer, Palmero yielded four more small sachets of shabu and the two marked 100-peso bills.

The packs of shabu were later found to weigh a total of 0.16 gram.

On August 16, the police team of Calape served a warrant of arrest against one Joel Malabar, a 39-year-old fisherman of barangay Sta. Cruz, with recommended bail bond of P40,000 for the charge of violation of RA 9165, Article II, Section 12 (Possession of Equipment, Instrument, Apparatus and Other Paraphernalia for Dangerous Drugs) filed before RTC Branch 49 under Presiding Judge Sisinio Virtudazo.
