BOOSTING CITY INFRA PROJECTS. The members of the Joint City Peace and Order Council and City Development Council, which is chaired by City Mayor John Geesnell “BABA” Yap, attentively listen to accomplishments and development projects. Estella Margate as proposed annual budget for Tagbilaran City has reached (Php2B) two billion peso mark.

The proposed annual budget for Tagbilaran City for the year 2017 has already tipped the Php2 billion mark as revealed in the Joint City Peace and Order Council and City Development Council meeting last week.

As reported by the City Planning and Development Officer, Engr. Estella Margate, the budget which mainly consists of big-ticket projects like the construction of the Bohol Friendship Park, Evacuation Center, Road Concreting and the Tagbilaran City College, also boasts of equipment acquisition like additional garbage compactor trucks, fire truck, additional CCTVs, and tow truck.

The Business Permits and Licensing System automation also got a major chunk in the next year’s budget.

On one hand, the CPOC has again witnessed the decreasing number of crimes as reported by the City PNP Chief, P/Supt. Nicomedes Olaivar.

Crime volume has steadily decreased in the past few months, with many cases being solved.  Olaivar reported 69.41% crime solution efficiency in October 2016 as against only 47% in the same period last year.

The relentless operations especially on the crackdown against illegal drugs which have been tagged as the cause of most crimes, allowed the City Police to increase the City’s crime solution efficiency figures this year.

P/Supt. Olaivar also said that Mayor Yap already released the Php200, 000 subsidy for the Comprehensive Training of the City PNP Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) in Cebu City.

Senior Jail Inspector Mark Omega also announced that the construction of the additional jail cells in BJMP will soon commence. Omega proudly shared the successful conduct of the City Health’s Office Medical and Dental Mission among the inmates two weeks ago.
