Resorts and hotels in Bohol are in their usual high occupancy level despite the recent isolated peace and order concern when the military attacked an attempt of the Abu Sayyaf to have their operations based in Inabanga town.

The Provincial Tourism Council (PTC) in a press statement said the “situation was contained in Inabanga and did not affect the rest of Bohol.”

In fact,  the Association of Southeast Asian Nation (ASEAN) Ministerial Meeting will proceed this Thursday even as security forces remain vigilant .

Popular hotels and resorts in Bohol continue to enjoy very high occupancy.

The council congratulated the people of Bohol for making a bold stand against the threat of terrorism

The council cited the Armed Forces of the Philippines , the Philippine National Police, the local government unit of Bohol and its communities for successfully ending the Inabanga incident .

The PTC quoted AFP Central Command Commander Maj. Gen. Oscar Lactao who assured the public that Bohol is the “safest place on earth.”  He further stated that there is no threat of another attack since the first attempt was thwarted.
