Re-electionist Mayor John Gessnell Yap and his running mate, Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Veloso were proclaimed early dawn today together with their 10-man slate members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
The tandem running under the ruling Liberal Party won by a landslide victory over the opposition camp.
Yap pooled 38,390 votes as against Barangay Captain Arlene Karaan’s 7,481 and Edgar Kapirig 468 while Veloso garnered 37,164 votes against Alfred Hontanosas’ 3,173 votes.
The magic 10 who made it to the Sangguniang Panlungsod included Adam Relson Jala, 34,231 votes, Joseph Bompat, 30,136; Philip Besas, 29, 373; Alberta Torralba, 27, 834; Dulce Glovasa, 27,184; Augustinus Gonzaga, 26,822; Jonas Cacho, 26,218; Eliezer Borja, 24,980; Vicente Polinar, 22,554 and Greggy Gatal, 20,466
