SWAT swoops down Baclayon drug nook

Combing illegal drugs nooks in the town of Baclayon, the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team of the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) arrested another suspected drug runner in yesterday’s buy-bust operation.

The SWAT Team, under Police Superintendent Nicomedes Olaivar Jr., and the Municipal Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (MAIDSOTG), under Police Inspector Fernando Peroramas, arrested one Vhon Dumalauron during the police operation in barangay Sta. Cruz, Baclayon at around 5:15 p.m. yesterday, May 17.

The 30-year-old Dumalauron, also a resident of the barangay Sta. Cruz, was caught handing a sachet of shabu to the poseur-buyer in exchange of P500.

When frisked by the police back-up team, Dumalauron yielded two more sachets of shabu and the 500-peso bill used as marked money.

The arresting officers estimated the sachets of shabu could weigh around 20 grams with estimated street value of P20,000.

The inventory of confiscated items done at the place of his arrest was witnessed by two barangay officials, a representative of the DOJ and the media.

Dumalauron is now detained at the lock-up jail of Baclayon Police Station.

DRUG SUSPECT ALSO NABBED

In an Oplan Tracker operation, the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team of Bohol nabbed a drug suspect in a house in barangay San Roque, Baclayon three days earlier.

The Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC)-SWAT team tracked down the suspect, Marcel Lapiz, inside the house of his common-law wife at around 11:30 a.m. on May 14.

Lapiz, a 38-year-old widower from purok 5 in barangay Landican, Baclayon is facing charges for possession of dangerous drugs, a violation of Section 11 under Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The PPSC-SWAT team led by PO3 Richard Timbal and PO2 Enrico Tayactac, under the supervision of Police Superintendent Nicomedes Olaivar Jr., conducted the operation based on the warrant of arrest issued by Judge Sisinio Virtudazo of the Regional Trial Court Branch 4 in Tagbilaran City.

Lapiz has been charged in Criminal Case 18530 with recommended bail set at P200,000.

Arresting officers brought Lapiz to BPPO at Camp Francisco Dagohoy in Tagbilaran City for booking and proper disposition.
