Man stabs son dead in Albur

A 36-year-old man was allegedly stabbed dead by his drunken father outside their houses at Barangay San Agustin in Alburquerque on Sunday night.

Victim Dindo Rampola was stabbed in his chest and side of his abdomen by his own father, Dario Rampola, 59, following a heated argument between the two, said PO3 Jonathan Estoque of the Alburquerque police.

The victim was still rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Dario is now in police custody in will be facing a parricide charge.

According to the victim’s mother, Crisanta, Dario has been prone to beat up his children particularly Dindo who was the oldest even when they were still children.

Prior to the stabbing incident, Dindo joined an already drunk Dario and their neighbors in a drinking session.

The father and son then figured in a heated argument which continued as they went home to their respective houses located near each other.

Dindo allegedly dash towards the suspect’s home wielding a piece of timber after the latter nailed his own house shut.

“Pagkasulod sa suspek sa panimalay kalit nalang gilansangan ang pultahan ug gipatay ang suga sa gawas nga bahin ug gi-singgitan ang biktima ug ‘o, karon makasulod pa ba ka, tan awon nato ning imong mga sanina,” said Estoque. “Diha nay mga higayon nga abison sa sanggot sa suspek ang mga sanina sa biktima o di gani aksyunan ug sunog.”

Dario then went outside of his house to face Dindo leading to a brawl and the stabbing of the victim.

Police were able to immediately arrest Dario after they were alerted by residents. He is now detained at the Alburquerque police lock-up jail. (ad)
